Adopting R and Its Partner Tools

I’m working to convince one of my clients to investigate R and the extensive set of tools that help manage workflows and create interactive web applications. My pitch to them is that R and the supplementary tools can provide a foundation for data analysis and display for the client’s projects as well as a way to share effective ways to analyze and display data. For example, with a small investment, we can embed graphical summaries of data into the client’s blog posts and web news, generating elegant displays quickly.

As part of our conversations, I threw together some notes about R and related tools that presumes no knowledge. Here it is, I welcome suggestions for tweaks or additions.
